Arrive 10 minutes early so that you can relax, have a glass of water, and unwind from your day. We recommend not eating for 1-2 hours prior to your treatment. Don't worry about anything else - everything is at hand!
We recommend wearing comfy loose fitting clothing for easy removal. During consultation and after-care we may work through some stretching off the table.
Deep relaxation and reduced pain! When treatments include some deeper work your muscles may feel a little achy or fatigued for a day or two after. If you have any concerns, please get in touch.
Absolutely! But it does depend on how far along in your pregnancy you are. If you are in the first trimester (up to 12 weeks), we're not insured to massage you. If you are in your second or third trimester, massage is a brilliant way to relax and ease those pregnancy aches and pains.
Any injuries or medical conditions should be shared during your consultation and we will make sure to factor this in to your treatment. An area may be avoided, if appropriate, or the massage style may be tailored to your medical condition. Massage does benefit compensating muscles that are over-worked, due to injuries, and also helps to reduce scar tissue from old injuries. So don't worry, we have your back!
Massage should be avoided completely if you have any of the following conditions: fever/flu, high-temperature, recent stroke or heart attack, infectious skin conditions, right after major surgery.
Any concerns such as "should I wear pants", "I'm on my period", "I haven't shaved", "I don't like my face, feet, bum etc. being touched" ... please don't worry. Any concerns about your treatment can be discussed during your consultation and we will endeavour to make you feel comfortable and at ease during your treatment.
A course of 6 massages over a period of 6 weeks with the aim to reduce pain and injury is ideal. Monthly massages can then be scheduled to mitigate against further injury, manage chronic conditions as well as helping to reset and restore your mind and body.
A minimum of 3-4 days should be given between treatments to allow your body to recover from any deeper work.
